Pumpkin Patch

Katie's class had a field trip to the pumpkin patch last Thursday. I decided to let Alex skip school so that he could go too. We went to Great Country Farms in Bluemount and it was CRAZY!!! There were close to 150 kids just from Katie's school plus at least 4 or 5 other field trip groups there. The kids got to go on a kinda-sorta-hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick their pumpkins. After that, they had a chance to feed some farm animals and play in a couple of different play areas. Before the kids got on the bus, the farm had a series of pig races. I don't think Katie knew quite what to make of that. Katie and Alex both said that their favorite part was eating lunch on a picnic table. They can be awfully easy to please sometimes! :)
